OTS 9: DGHM workshop: Eukaryotic Pathogens
Eukaryotic pathogens, fungi and parasites, are often overlooked as causative agents of disease, especially compared to bacteria and viruses. Yet, they are major causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. Their genetics are often complex, and treatment difficult due to the relatedness to their eukaryotic hosts. This session deals with the mechanisms and strategies eukaryotic pathogens employ to cause disease, and new ways to treat them.
